Simon & Joy Ensor brought the 100 ac property in 1988 with the idea to develop quality tourist accommodation in a bushland setting. The property was a virgin bush block with no established water, power or buildings, even 2 boundary fences were missing. Finances were exhausted buying the property after selling there house in Perth. Both Joy & Simon grew up in the Margaret River area and wished to return home.

The first building started in Dec 1990, which is the shed/office & home to this day!

Callam there son was born in July 25th 1991, the first chalet was called Jarrah after the big twisted Jarrah tree out the front on the chalet this completed in Easter 1992.

Sheoak chalet was completed in Nov 1994.
Peppermint chalet was completed Easter 1997.
Fern completed in May 2000.
Banksia was completed in August 2000.

Joy and Simon have made all the mudbricks by hand & built the chalets from the pre-plumbing through to the curtains certainly a labour of love. Simon is a Shipwright (boat builder) by trade, hence the water-tight fit!

Now they have completed the predator proof fence around the entire 100acs or 2.4kms to offer a feral free safe haven for our native fauna. They wish to re-establish a eden status showcasing the wonderful diverse range of small marsupials the south-west was known for. Eventually to open guided noctural walks for your enjoyment, cafe & interpretive centre. Chapel & small conference centre are now in the planning stages.
